This can be upgrade to much higher numbers. LevelĪllows the pod to drill through the brownish dirt below outpost AlphaĪllows the pod to drill through the grayish dirt below outpost BetaĪllows the pod to drill through any color or toughness of dirt, including blueīy default, each character starts with 7 cubic units of cargo space, assuming each ore is 1 cubic unit.
Blue is the toughest, only being able to be drilled at bit level 3. Upgrading this allows the character to drill through tougher types of dirt. Mining upgrades are anything from Cargo Size to Radar upgrades. The upgrades also have no names, unlike in the original Motherload flash game. Some characters have less upgrades than others, and as such, not all levels of any upgrade may be purchasable. Upgrades are divided into 3 categories: Upgrades, Speed, and Special Upgrades. Upgrades are purchased at any of the five shops in the game, and stay with that character through all of the local saves (except radar).
